While at home I decided that I did know something about my life and what I wanted. And that one thing was that above anything else in my life I wanted to be with Christ. I want to walk with him through the thick and thin through the poop and the roses alike. And that is exactly where this song stems from. Just the idea that I can go for a walk with Jesus through this adventure of a life and be OK.
I woke up this morning,
My father said take, a walk with me.
I’ve got things I want to show you about politics and hypocrites
Terrorists and the wrong culprits.
And yes, I need your hands, I need your feet
I said
I will walk with you in Sunday shoes
I will walk with you when skies aren’t blue
I will listen to your stories of how to save this world
I’ll do my best spread the news
Will you teach me something new today
Will you show me something remarkable in every way
You can take me farther than I have ever gone before
You will guide me through every open door
Jesus,
I will walk with you in Sunday shoes
I will walk with you when skies aren’t blue
I will listen to your stories of little girls and boys
I’ll do my best to spread the news
I will walk with you in Central Park we’ll drink a sip of coffee
I will walk with you till my shoes wear down and my socks poke out
I will walk with you through dangers and deserts and plains storms
and everywhere you walk with me we’ll and talk
I will walk with you in Sunday shoes
I will walk with you when skies aren’t blue
I will listen to your stories of how to save this world
I’ll do my best spread the news
